
I don’t want to give you a false impression – I don’t spend as much one-on-one time with my kids as I feel like I should. I’ve always said that prioritizing quality time with your teenagers is one of the hardest parts of homeschooling; at least for me, it is. By the end of the school part of our day, I’m ready just to sit down and relax for a bit – or it’s time to get dinner started.
Now that my kids are all teens and young adults, sometimes arranging quality time can be even more difficult.

Making a cell model of some sort seems to be a universal rite of passage for middle and/or high school students. At some point during a biology unit, nearly every student is asked to build a model showing the parts of a cell. It’s one of those classic science assignments that shows up year after year in classrooms and homeschool science curricula.
Even if your science curriculum doesn’t assign a cell model project, you should consider doing one anyway.
